Quad Ride to the Kingdom of Heaven Film Set: 1 Hour from Ouarzazate

Our shortest quad ride: one hour on desert tracks to the fortress walls built for the battle scenes of Kingdom of Heaven.

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Destination: The Kingdom of Heaven filming site outside Ouarzazate
  • Group size: 1 to 20

You start on the edge of Ouarzazate, take a few minutes to get used to the throttle and brakes, then follow your guide onto open desert ground. Rocky rises and flat stretches alternate, enough variety to feel the quad move under you without the ride becoming technical.

The goal is the set where the medieval battles of Kingdom of Heaven were filmed. The fortress walls stand on their own in the middle of the landscape, and you stop there long enough to walk around, take photos and hear from your guide how the film crews used this ground.

One hour is the right length if you have never ridden a quad, if your day is already busy, or if you simply want a taste of the desert around the city before committing to a longer route.

Choose your quad

  • KYMCO 300 300cc, reliable and easy to handle 30 USDper quad

  • The fortress built for Kingdom of Heaven
  • Photo stops with wide views over the plain
  • Film and local stories told by your guide

Where it happens

The ride stays close to Ouarzazate, on the stony desert and low hills that surround the filming location. The ground is a mix of hard tracks, loose gravel and short rocky climbs, with wide views in every direction.

Who it suits

Each rider steers their own quad, so it suits people who want to drive rather than sit back. First timers are welcome: the guide adjusts the route and the speed to the group, and experienced riders get more open ground. Groups of 1 to 20 can ride together. If anyone in your group is young, has a health condition or is pregnant, tell us when you send the request so we can confirm the ride is suitable.
