About Ouarzazate Tours

Ouarzazate Tours is a local team based in Ouarzazate. We guide quad, buggy and horse rides through the desert, palm groves and film landscapes around the city, and we organise private day trips and desert tours across southern Morocco.

Guides who live here

We know the tracks around Ouarzazate because we use them: the stony plateaus toward the film sets, the riverbeds that lead to Fint, the village paths below Ait Ben Haddou. That local knowledge shapes every ride, from where we stop for tea to the pace we set for the group.

What we organise

Our quad, buggy and horse rides follow five routes from Ouarzazate, so you can choose the place first and then the way to travel.

  • The Kingdom of Heaven film set, 1 hour
  • Kasbah Tifoultoute, with the cinema studio by quad and buggy, 2 hours
  • The Fint oasis and its villages, 3 hours
  • Ait Ben Haddou, half day
  • A full day joining the main sites
  • Private day trips with an English speaking driver to the Draa Valley, the Valley of Roses, the Todra Gorges and the Berber village of Tiggert
  • Desert tours of two to four days to Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga, and a private Marrakech to Fes crossing

How we keep rides safe

Every quad, buggy and horse ride includes a helmet and safety equipment, and your guide stays with you from start to finish. We adapt the pace and the route to the experience of the group. On the full day quad tour, the day starts with a safety briefing before departure.

Before you book, tell us about the age of each participant, any health condition or pregnancy, and your riding or driving experience, so we can confirm the activity is suitable.

About Ouarzazate

Ouarzazate sits at the foot of the High Atlas, at 1,119 m, where the roads from Marrakech meet the valleys of the Draa and the Dades. For centuries it linked the oases of the Draa with the Sahara, and caravans crossed its tracks on their way north. The Amazigh were its first inhabitants, and their earthen kasbahs still mark the landscape.

Today the city is also known for filmmaking. Ouarzazate belongs to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for film, and its studios and desert settings have hosted productions such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven.
