Why film lovers stop here

Ouarzazate is a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for film, and the Cinema Museum is the easiest way to see why without leaving town. Inside are real film set decors, from painted backdrops to halls lined with columns.

The building is not just a showcase. It is sometimes used as a location for films and television series in its own right.

Opening hours and entry fee

The museum is listed as open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and closed on Sunday. Entry is 80 MDH for adults and 40 MDH for children. Plan one hour to one hour and a half. Hours and prices change from time to time, so call +212 5 24 89 03 46 or check at the door.

Building a half day of cinema and kasbahs

The museum faces Taourirt Kasbah across Boulevard Mohamed V, so you can visit both on foot in one morning or afternoon. If you want more cinema, Atlas Film Studios is just outside town on the road to Marrakech, where a guided tour takes you through working sets.

Seeing film locations outdoors

Many of the productions associated with Ouarzazate were filmed in the landscapes around the city. With Ouarzazate Tours you can ride a quad, buggy or horse to the fortress set of Kingdom of Heaven, or combine Kasbah Tifoultoute with a cinema studio on a two hour ride.
